Finding a solution to initiate student participation

Due to the sudden appearance of the Corona Pandemic,universities have introduced ad hoc measures in a very short time to enable study and teaching even under these conditions. Until now, student participation has hardly been in focus.

Members roles and background

Sandra Neuner is working as an instructional designer at the SRH University Heidelberg in the Academy for University Teaching / Akademie für Hochschullehre. Her main topics are: University strategy for digital learning / making lecturers digitally competent for online-learning.

 

Franz Vergröhl works as a research assistant at the University of Hamburg in the team for university teaching and student participation.

Solution description

We created a bottom-up tool for students to reflect on which level they could participate on ad hoc measures during the crisis when universities had to completely switch to Online Learning and below. With these questions and categories, students can go through a systematized process of reflection and create recommendations for reaction for more student participation to get into conversation with university management .

Solution target group

Students - can initiate a bottom up process for more student participation in all topics covering digital learning at university.

University Management - get feedback and recommendations for action.

No idea yet. We would like to work on it further so we exchanged contacts. Right now, the tool isn't finished till the end, so we will work on this as next step.

Solution team work

We formed a team pretty late but the team work was pretty good. We had some meetings and between that we worked on other parts of the solution.
