Why is it important to find a solution to this challenge?

Lifelong learning requires learners to be independent and thus requires extensive learner support. Being able to predict the performance of students based on the past and current data, provides a powerful tool for learners and learner facilitators to provide appropriate feedback that ensures a pleasurable learning environment as well as a higher success rate for the learners.
