Solution description

The proposal for the future of education is to implement a way to evaluate the knowledge and soft skills of university students. Through prior coordination with companies recruiting pre-professional interns, it will be possible to obtain cases related to the jobs offered in the labor exchange.

The presentation of the case in the virtual classroom will be seen after selecting the icon of the exam to be evaluated. In this case, it will be the final work of a course. You can see the distribution of the steps to follow to carry out the evaluation and the distribution of the grade. Then, after clicking on each of the options, you can see the indications, the rubric, the delivery format, and the cases, in the part of the cases it will be erected according to the indications of the teacher of the course. After selecting it, the video of the case will be shown.

It should be noted that the evaluation consists of an individual and a group test. The individual part will be evaluated by activating the voice of the students to capture the relationship of the topics with the supposed development of the case. In this part, a recognition test of the student's voice will be requested. The group part will be developed in group and the time of the test for its delivery will be determined by the professor of the subject.

In this way, the university will be able to evaluate the students' competencies in a more empathetic way and without the pressure of problems with the internet signal, and the students will determine in which position they would like to perform their internship, knowing the activities they would perform during the months of work in the company. Finally, the evaluation proposal includes enhancing soft skills to improve competitiveness through teamwork, leadership, organization, critical thinking, communication, among others.

Solution tweet text

Through case evaluations with recruiters you will be able to decide in which job you will perform best after graduating from university. In addition, you will be able to interact with your teammates on the solution of a proposed case.

Solution innovativeness

Assessments usually have a 2 to 3 hours timetable for completion. However, due to the virtual nature of the classes, we depend on the internet signal. This has caused students to be more focused on their connectivity than on taking the exam. In addition, changes in the world of work require new skills in applicants. Therefore, in our group, we decided to face these problems to provide a solution that is more empathetic to the student and allows them to develop those skills required when performing their pre-professional internships.

Solution transferability

The solution can be implemented in schools with assessments being developed at the university. This will allow them to decide the career they want to take at the end of their school studies.

Solution sustainability

The proposed solution can be applied during virtual and face-to-face classes. In the medium term, it will be possible to evaluate the aptitudes of each student for pre-professional internships. In addition, the university student will be able to better choose the career line he/she wishes to follow in the future. In this way, graduates will be able to demonstrate their skills in a suitable workplace.

Solution team work

To get the work done we split up part of the project in order to finish the pending work during the days of the contest. The relationship was amazing and we got along well and I would work with this team again in the future.
