About the solution
SmartEnergy Alert is an educational web prototype (with a future mobile app vision) co-created by 33 young people – 21 participants from Adjud and Vrancea and 12 participants from several EU countries (online) – during EduHack Adjud 2025 – Digital Skills for Equal Futures.

The prototype:

• helps citizens understand when electricity is cheaper, normal or expensive during the day;
• includes an interactive simulation (hourly energy "mood" of the day);
• offers a simple planner that estimates energy cost between selected hours;
• is bilingual (EN/RO) so it can be used both locally and in a wider European context;
• highlights the active role of youth in designing digital tools for their own community, especially for families affected by energy costs.

For now, the demo uses a simulated price curve for educational purposes, but the concept can be easily extended with real data sources and further developed into a full mobile or web application.
