EduHack Adjud 2025 – Digital Skills for Equal Futures
EduHack Adjud 2025 – Digital Skills for Equal Futures is an educational hackathon that brings together young people from vulnerable communities in Vrancea County to develop digital solutions aimed at reducing inequality in education. The event will take place in Adjud, in a safe, modern, and tech-equipped space provided by Fondation Orange, Fundația Orange Romania
Participants, aged between 13 and 21, will work in teams and be guided by mentors, teachers, and volunteers. Throughout the hackathon, they will explore real-world challenges in education: limited access to technology, lack of digital literacy, ineffective learning methods, and social exclusion.
The goal is to foster civic engagement, creativity, and critical thinking, giving youth the opportunity to contribute actively to reshaping education in their communities. The solutions developed will be publicly showcased and may serve as the foundation for future educational initiatives.
The event supports the European objectives on digital inclusion, equity in education, and the promotion of social innovation through technology.

Specific conditions to apply
Participants must be between 13 and 21 years old and reside in Vrancea County, with priority given to those from vulnerable, rural, or marginalised backgrounds. No advanced technical skills are required, but motivation to learn, willingness to engage, and teamwork are essential. Participation is free of charge, within the available spots. We actively encourage gender balance and ethnic and social diversity among participants.

Organisational Capability
Challenge and goals
Objectives:
To provide free access to a digital education event for 30–40 young people from Vrancea County, especially from marginalised communities.
To develop digital, collaborative, and problem-solving skills among participants.
To encourage critical thinking, civic engagement, and active involvement in real educational challenges.
To connect youth with mentors, teachers, and experts in technology and education.
To identify and support innovative solutions that can be applied in schools or local communities.
Expected Results:
Successful organisation of a local hackathon in Adjud, in a safe and fully equipped space.
6 to 8 teams of young participants will propose digital solutions to real educational challenges.
At least 3 solutions will be documented and publicly presented, with potential for future development.
A replicable framework will be created for future events in the Vrancea region.
Increased visibility of marginalised communities and promotion of digital inclusion in the county.
Strengthened role of Asociația Grupul Verde as a local facilitator of educational innovation.
Expectations and requirements for the solutions and participants
We expect participants to be motivated, curious, and open to teamwork in order to create innovative digital solutions in education.
Available Support
The team of Asociația Grupul Verde will provide full support for the organisation of the hackathon: logistical coordination, facilitators, mentors, IT technical support, local promotion, and communication with participants. We will offer a fully equipped venue, necessary equipment, high-speed internet connection, and educational materials. In addition, we will ensure assistance throughout the event, including pre-hackathon preparation and dissemination of the final solutions.

TechWomen Empowerment Hub
TechWomen Empowerment Hub is an educational and digital inclusion programme developed by Asociația Grupul Verde and funded by the Orange Foundation. It is dedicated to women and girls from vulnerable communities, especially those in rural or small urban areas. The Hub operates in Adjud, Vrancea County, as a modern, safe, and accessible training centre where women can acquire both basic and advanced digital skills necessary for integration into the digital society and the labor market.
The program aims to:
provide digital literacy to women and young mothers with limited access to technology,
build self-confidence and the ability to use digital tools,
facilitate access to better-paid jobs or career retraining.
Through hands-on courses, mentoring, introductory coding and robotics workshops, online safety modules, and training in essential digital tools, participants follow a learning path tailored to their real needs. The program aligns with European goals on digital inclusion and gender equality, offering concrete support to reduce the digital gender gap.
TechWomen Empowerment Hub is part of the national Orange Digital Centers network, thus strengthening an ecosystem of digital education and innovation for all.
