What is DigiEduHack ?
DigiEduHack is an EU initiative that aims to foster grassroots innovation, collaboration and creativity and to drive positive change in digital education.
This initiative opens up a world of exciting opportunities for learning, collaboration and innovation. Are you an organisation interested in hosting a local event, a student, educator or entrepreneur, or a digital education enthusiast who wants to join a hack? DigiEduHack offers a unique space where you can unleash your creativity and explore the latest trends and technologies in digital education.
At DigiEduHack, you have the chance to participate in dynamic local events, connect with a diverse community of like-minded individuals and showcase your skills and talent on a global stage. DigiEduHack is the perfect place for anyone who wants to stay ahead of the curve and shape the future of education in the digital age.
How does it work?
DigiEduHack is a series of 24-hour grassroots local hackathons taking place over a period of ten days, between the 8 and 17 November 2024. Whether in Europe or elsewhere around the globe, participants come together to create solutions to diverse digital education-related challenges.
DigiEduHack started in 2019, as part of the first Digital Education Action Plan of the European Commission. For its first five editions, it gathered nearly 10 000 participants from Europe and beyond. The initiative continues under the Digital Education Action Plan 2021-2027, with a long-term goal to support grassroots innovation and contribute to the objectives of the European Digital Education Hub.

Imagining the digital education of the future
In today’s rapidly digitalising world, cultivating strong digital literacy and skills and keeping up to date with the new trends is no longer optional – it’s essential.
Digitalisation has profoundly impacted various spheres of society, including education, prompting teachers and other education experts to reevaluate their teaching methods and embrace emerging technologies.
Nowadays, not only is it important to understand, use, and promote these new technologies, this way redesigning and improving the education landscape, but also to connect people, to help and learn from each other and create a sense of community.

Who are they?
A team of experts with a wide range of backgrounds. They come from educational institutions and research institutes, student organisations, NGOs and the private sector.
They are previous hosts or participants and representatives from the organisations leading the initiative. These brilliant minds have come together to guide and support the development and execution of the Digital Education Hackathon.
What do they do?
Our team of experts are the heart of this year's edition, and contribute to a wide range of actions:

- As experts in their field, they share their insights and participate in key events and contribute to learning opportunities for hosts and participants.

All winners of DigiEduHack automatically become Global Ambassadors. Global Ambassadors, are invited to promote the initiative and share their experiences from the initiative (the hackathon, the Main Stage event etc.) on social media using #DigiEduHack #DigiEduHackAmbassador. They may also choose to give a presentation at their school, organization, or local community to inspire others!
