DigiEduHack 2024: Celebration of Creativity and Collaboration in Digital Education
The fifth edition of DigiEduHack, held from 8 to 17 November 2024, brought together a global community of educators, students, innovators, and EdTech pioneers under the theme “Imagine the future of digital education.” The edition highlighted the power of collaboration in addressing pressing educational challenges and reimagining how we teach and learn in a rapidly evolving digital world.
Across 51 local hackathons in 25 countries, more than 1,700 participants came together for intensive, 24-hour co-creation events. They tackled real-world issues around access and availability, learning spaces and pedagogy, and emerging technologies, producing a 315 innovative solutions.
“We witnessed remarkable creativity from teams tackling real-world educational barriers,” noted one UltraHack expert who supported all finalist teams with real-time feedback.
The DigiEduHack Steering Group selected 12 finalists which went on to compete for the 2024 Global Awards. A global public vote, attracting over 4,000 participants, then determined the final four winning teams.
The DigiEduHack 2024 winners showcased innovative uses of AI to foster inclusive and personalised education. EDUMIND created a web platform that helps teachers design tailored, interactive materials based on students’ learning styles. AiCademy offered students a smart academic assistant to build personalised study plans and reduce stress. SIGNEDGE developed a sign language recognition tool to enhance accessibility for deaf and hard-of-hearing learners. The Experienced Award went to MyVision , an app that supports students in navigating university choices and personal growth, combining chatbot guidance, podcasts, and direct counselling support.
These winning teams stood out for their originality, impact, and relevance—offering tangible solutions to challenges faced by educators and learners around the world. Their achievements underscored a shared commitment to transforming digital education and demonstrated how collective creativity can lead to systemic change.
