Solution details

An app that helps student to choose the best university course and guides them in their personal development. The main services are an AI chatbot to ask questions on universities, programs and organizational details, podcasts of the departments and councelors contacts.

Context

The problem we are addressing with myVision is the increasing dropout rate in universities, both in Italy and across Europe. Research indicates that this may be partly due to insufficient guidance during high school.

The challenge we face is helping students identify which university aligns with their passions, enabling them to make the best possible choice for their future.

Who Benefits?

myVision targets high school students unsure about their higher education choices. It also includes parents, university advisors, and future university students selecting master’s programs.

  • High School Students will receive personalized guidance and resources to make informed academic choices.
  • Universities will benefit from increased visibility, showcasing their strengths to attract prospective students.
  • Parents will have additional tools to support their children in the decision-making process.

This platform helps students make better-informed decisions, improves university-student engagement, and offers tailored support for all stakeholders involved.

  • Guiding Students: myVision acts as a companion to support students in their personal development, helping them make informed decisions when choosing their academic path, leading to greater long-term satisfaction.
  • Measuring Success:
    • Enrollment Conversion: Success can be measured by tracking increases in enrollment conversion rates driven by the platform.
    • Data Insights: Universities can use the service as a valuable, GDPR-compliant data source to analyze trends and gain insights from student interactions.
    • Retention & Graduation Rates: The service’s impact can also be evaluated by tracking decreases in dropout rates and increases in graduation rates, reflecting its positive effect on student retention and completion.
Team work

After completing our Bachelor’s in Psychology and Computer Science, we shared a Vision (which inspired the name of our service): to merge humanistic and scientific perspectives, using technology to empower users. As HCI students, we eventually found our path but faced significant challenges in identifying a Master’s program that aligned with our goals. Now that we’re here, we’re excited to define our service’s mission: to support future generations of students and educational institutions.

    • A modern, user-friendly service that aligns with current technological standards.
    • Differentiates from existing solutions by offering a more intuitive interface, unlike outdated and complex platforms.
    • Provides a personalized, human-centered experience, making it more engaging and supportive for students.

    • An integrated system for scheduling and managing 1-on-1 sessions, streamlining their workload.
    • A direct channel to engage with students, providing personalized guidance.
    • Insights into student interactions, helping advisors tailor their support based on students’ specific needs and interests.
Transferability
  • Target Groups: While myVision’s initial focus is on supporting high school students, it can be easily adapted to assist Bachelor’s students in choosing their Master’s degree. Additionally, the platform can support international students by providing tailored guidance based on their unique needs.
  • Geographic Expansion: Initially launching in Italy, myVision can be scaled to a European level and further expanded internationally, making it versatile across various educational systems.
Sustainability

Development Timeline: myVision requires 6–9 months to develop, including AI chatbot programming, podcast creation, and advisor scheduling integration.
