DigiEduHack 2024 Winners Announced: Meet the Innovators Shaping Digital Education
The 5th edition of DigiEduHack has reached its pinnacle with the announcement of the Global Winners, who have showcased groundbreaking innovations in digital education. This article spotlights the winning teams and their visionary solutions, celebrating their creativity, impact, and contribution to transforming learning in the digital age.
Looking back
DigiEduHack (Digital Education Hackathon) is an initiative of the European Commission that unites innovators, educators, and students worldwide to co-create the future of digital learning.
Held from November 8 to 17, DigiEduHack Days 2024 brought together over 1,700 participants across 51 hackathons in 25 countries. Participants from diverse backgrounds collaborated intensively during 24-hour hackathons, addressing critical challenges in areas, such as access and availability, learning spaces and pedagogy, and emerging technologies. Their innovative solutions have set new benchmarks for enhancing educational experiences worldwide.
The journey culminated in a global public vote, with over 4,000 people casting their votes to determine the four most outstanding solutions. These four winning teams exemplify excellence in their respective categories:
Beginner Awards:
EDUMIND – A web platform that empowers teachers with AI-driven tools to create personalised, interactive learning materials. By analysing students' learning styles, it generates engaging resources such as quizzes, presentations, and videos to enhance teaching efficiency
AiCademy – AI-powered study plans tailored to students' schedules, needs, and goals. It helps learners stay organised with smart tools for planning, reviewing, and tracking progress
SIGNEDGE – AI-driven sign language recognition, making education more accessible for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
Experienced Award:
MyVision – A student support app that helps learners choose the best university course and guides their personal development. It features an AI chatbot for university-related queries, department podcasts, and access to counsellors.
These teams were selected through a public voting process, standing out among numerous local winners for their creativity, feasibility, and potential impact. Their achievements underscore the global commitment to transforming digital education and highlight the power of collaborative innovation.
As we celebrate these remarkable accomplishments, we also look forward to the upcoming Awarding Ceremony which will take place in Brussels, where the winners will receive their well-earned recognition. This event will be an opportunity for the winning teams to pitch their projects, celebrate their achievements, and inspire future innovators.
