DigiEduHack 2024

Seize the opportunity, let's support people-driven digital transformation in education together!

3rd edition 2021

The Digital Education Hackathon returned in November 2021 for its third edition with the same ambition as in the previous years: to bring together coders and non-coders, experts in education, teachers and students in finding solutions for the current challenges facing digital education.

The annual theme in 2021 was “Digital education for a sustainable world” and this third edition, hosted by the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU, comprised 54 local events in 32 countries, almost 2.500 participants and a total of 228 submitted solutions.

Following the established process, hosts chose the local winning solutions, out of which the Steering Group selected the finalists. A public voting then chose the three winners of DigiEduHack 2021: Hachi (Team 11Chips, Italy), an online visualizing and augmented reality tool that enhances creativity and critical thinking with the ultimate ambition of promoting “a science museum didactic activity for elementary school children”. GoGreen (Team GoGreen, Israel)’s solution aimed at introducing a “paperless” school. Last, but not least, the BeeSmart solution (Team BeeSmart, Slovenia) opted for tackling the issues of an ageing beekeeping community. The main stage event took place on 10th November in 2023 and was hosted by the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU in cooperation with the International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence under the auspices of UNESCO (IRCAI).
