E-waste | Enabling Transformational Learning Through Digitalisation
E-waste Circularity Challenge and Digital Waste Challenge are blended learning lesson plans that are aimed at university students. The courses are made available globally for anyone to make use of, and actively used by NGOs.
The courses combine various digital learning elements with hands-on assignments - often with a focus on social learning and project-based learning. It is our desire to make these courses attractive to university students and support transformative learning with impactful outcomes: individual behaviour change, community action, and inspiration for future careers.
We invite participants to design and prototype innovative ways to make e-waste and digital waste subject matter relevant, exciting, and engaging.

Challenge and goals
We invite participants to co-create concepts and prototypes of blended learning assets that can be used to enhance the current E-waste Circularity Challenge and Digital Waste Challenge courses. These could take the shape of interactive tools, ingenious ways of utilising existing solutions, gamification, and so on. The best solutions will be implemented in the course materials - either directly, or where relevant, with external funding.
Expectations and requirements for the solutions and participants
We would like to receive prototypes or elaborate concept notes that can be built in the future. We want the solutions to be analysed in the light of good pedagogical practices, accessibility, appeal for all genders, fit for frugal technical set-up, and so on. Not all solutions can meet such standards, but an analysis of the fit should be there.
