Since its launch in 2019, DigiEduHack has connected over 10,000 participants who have developed more than 1,300 projects tackling challenges in digital education. As a part of the EU’s Digital Education Action Plan, the initiative continues to grow as a dynamic community of educators, learners, and innovators working to make digital education more accessible, engaging, and equitable for all.

“Whether you are a student, a professional or a lifelong learner, digital skills are essential to navigate today’s society and contribute to a highly competitive economy,” said Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen, Director-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) at the European Commission in her opening speech to welcome thousands of hackathon enthusiasts this November. “We need everyone to have access to high-quality digital education, regardless of where they live, their background or their learning style. And for this, we rely on innovators like you — the DigiEduHack community — to help us break down barriers, integrate new technologies responsibly, and inspire change across borders.”

This year’s Main Stage will highlight key outcomes from the 2025 hackathons, showcase inspiring participant stories, and feature digital education experts, and community representatives discussing how digital education can remain inclusive, ethical, and future-ready in distinctive panels on bridging education and labour markets in the digital age or on how hackathons promote innovation in education.

About DigiEduHack

DigiEduHack is a European Commission initiative that brings together students, educators, and innovators from around the world, to co-create solutions for the future of digital education through local hackathons where participants tackle real-world challenges in areas such as digital literacy, inclusion, emerging technologies, and pedagogy.

DigiEduHack is not only about ideation, but also about implementation and community engagement. Over an intensive 24-hour period, participants develop concrete solutions that are then shortlisted, voted on, and supported beyond the hackathon through follow-up check-ins and mentoring to help bring their ideas to life.
