AI Entr4Youth Innovation Camp
– Each team will be made up of five students;
– Ideally, the team members do not know each other beforehand – “icebreaker” activities are organised;
– During the working period, students present a solution to the problem with the help of a teacher and volunteers (JA Portugal would try to reach, without guarantee business consultants from different areas such as finance, marketing & sales, operations, etc.);
- Students will be challenged to integrate Artificial Intelligence, particularly the dimension of Computer Vision, into the solution they will present;
– Throughout the day, students have access to the information and tools needed to carry out their proposal;
– At the end, teams present their developed idea in a pitch before a panel of judges who evaluate them based on specific criteria;
– By applying the principle of Learning by Doing Fun, students develop their interpersonal skills, as well as their ability to solve problems and work under tight deadlines!

Challenge and goals
– Create and develop a business idea;
– Integrate Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision into the design of their innovative solution;
– Gain a systemic vision of business and enterprise;
– Understand which skills and abilities are needed in the professional world;
– Realise that goals are more easily achieved when a group works as a team and each person’s abilities are put to use.
Expectations and requirements for the solutions and participants
Junior Achievement will aim to reach around 40 to 50 students, aged between 15 and 22, ideally from two different schools. In terms of requirements, it is important that each school can provide, in addition to the working time of student participation, the digital resources needed to conduct the hackathon, namely computers and internet access.
