DigiEduHack 2025

Rethinking education in the age of digital skills.

Future Skills Hack: Building the Next Generation of EdTech

In today's fast-paced world, there's a growing gap between traditional academic teaching and the practical digital skills required by the modern economy. Students often learn theory without gaining the hands-on experience needed to solve real-world problems. This hackathon directly addresses this challenge by asking: how can we transform learning to make it more engaging, practical, and relevant?

Hackathon is a 2-day offline event where we unite the brightest minds from technology and diverse expert domains (like finance, ecology, security, etc.). Interdisciplinary teams of students and lecturers will collaborate to design and build innovative educational simulators and applications. The entire hackathon, including key workshops and final pitches, will be live-streamed for a wider online audience.

The journey includes a pre-hackathon networking event (Nov 5) to spark ideas and form teams. To ensure the solutions are viable and address real market needs, teams will be supported by mentors from leading IT and EdTech companies. Through dedicated mentorship sessions, they will refine their concepts and business logic. The hackathon will culminate in a final pitch session before a jury of industry experts and potential investors. Our mission is to generate 10 impactful EdTech prototypes ready for future development. Join us to co-create the future of education!

The address to attend this onsite hackathon is: Chudnivska St, 103, Zhytomyr, Zhytomyr Oblast, 10005

Challenge and goals

Our vision for this hackathon extends far beyond a single weekend event. We aim to create a lasting impact on our educational community and build a foundation for future innovation. Our key goals and expected outcomes are:

1. The primary goal is to produce 10 viable EdTech prototypes that address current challenges in education. These solutions will focus on rethinking learning processes through technology and AI. The most promising projects will be considered for piloting in actual university courses, providing a unique opportunity for real-world testing and validation.

2. We aim to create a dynamic environment where technical specialists (developers, designers) and non-technical domain experts (educators, economists, etc.) collaborate effectively. This synergy is key to developing solutions that are not only technologically advanced but also pedagogically relevant and grounded in real-world needs.

3. By involving mentors and a jury from the IT and EdTech industries, we ensure that the solutions developed are practical and aligned with market demands. This direct interaction provides participants with invaluable industry insights and helps transform academic ideas into market-relevant concepts.

4. Participants will gain hands-on experience in the full product development cycle. They will enhance both their technical and domain-specific knowledge while developing crucial soft skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and pitching their ideas effectively to an expert audience.

Expectations and requirements for the solutions and participants

Who Can Participate: university students (undergraduate and postgraduate) and university lecturers from all academic disciplines.participants must be 17 years of age or older.participants can register either as individuals or as pre-formed teams (ideally 3-5 members). What We Expect:to commit to the full duration of the two-day offline event. to work collaboratively and respectfully within their interdisciplinary teams. all projects must be developed from scratch and must directly address the main theme: "Rethinking education in the age of digital skills."each team is expected to present a functional prototype or a MVP of their solution, accompanied by a final pitch to the jury.participants should be open to engaging with mentors, receiving constructive feedback, and iterating on their idea

Schedule

Our schedule is designed to maximize creativity, collaboration, and learning over three key days. The journey begins with an online side-event for inspiration and team building, ensuring everyone arrives ready to innovate. Day one of the hackathon is dedicated to intensive development, sparked by an inspirational keynote and guided by expert mentors. Day two focuses on refining prototypes and mastering presentation skills, culminating in the final project pitches before our expert jury. Every session is crafted to help you transform your idea into a compelling prototype.
