UAnited: Signalling Risks and Vulnerabilities in Education During Conflict
The UAnited Hackathon is a two-day onsite event that brings together young innovators, mentors, and experts to co-create impactful solutions for improving the mental health and well-being of youth affected by war, while also addressing related educational and social challenges. Throughout the event, mentors will provide workshops and continuous guidance to the teams, helping participants enhance their problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills. In a dynamic and collaborative environment, teams will work on developing innovative and practical solutions that promote inclusive education, mental resilience, and equal access to learning opportunities for displaced and vulnerable communities. The hackathon aims to empower participants to turn their ideas into real initiatives that support recovery and integration through education and innovation.
The address to attend this onsite event is: 10 Rue Heinrich Heine, 1720 Gare Luxembourg

Challenge and goals
The main goal of the UAnited Hackathon is to inspire the development of innovative, practical solutions that create future opportunities for youth and promote mental well-being through education and community engagement.
The event aims to generate ideas that can be scaled or implemented by local organisations to support young people in Luxembourg and across Europe who have been affected by war and displacement. By combining creative teamwork with expert mentorship, participants will explore ways to strengthen mental health support systems, reduce social and educational inequalities, and build inclusive learning environments.
As an outcome, the hackathon seeks not only to produce concrete project concepts but also to empower youth with new skills, confidence, and motivation to continue building positive social impact in their communities.
The Challenge is part of the EU-funded project UAnited (Fostering youth empowerment for Ukraine through open innovation, https://uanited.org/).
Expectations and requirements for the solutions and participants
The UAnited Hackathon welcomes participants aged 16–29 — students, young professionals, and anyone eager to contribute to innovation and mental health improvement.
No prior experience is required; only motivation, creativity, and a willingness to collaborate. Whether you are passionate about education, technology, or social change, your ideas and energy can help build solutions that support youth well-being and create a positive impact in the community.
