Unleash Your Digital Self

Unleash your self and digital competences to preserve and reimagine the past! This hackathon brings together teachers, students, parents, NGOs' representatives and cultural enthusiasts to explore how technology can enrich and safeguard our shared cultural legacy.

Its main aims:

  • Stimulate innovative solutions for documenting, preserving, and promoting cultural heritage using digital tools
  • Encourage collaboration across disciplines: tech meets tradition, innovation meets culture

Target Group : High School Teenagers (Ages 15–19)

This group is composed of vibrant, curious, and tech-savvy individuals navigating a key stage of personal and academic growth. They're digital natives with a strong appetite for innovation, creativity, and self-expression—making them ideal participants in a hackathon centred around digital cultural heritage.

Challenge and goals

  • By the end of the event, at least 10 functional prototypes related to digital cultural heritage (e.g. videos,apps) will be developed by teenage teams.
  • 80% of participating students will report improved understanding of cultural heritage and increased digital skills through post-event surveys.
  • With structured mentorship, accessible tools, and workshops, teenagers will complete and present projects within the 48-hour hackathon timeframe.

  • interest in culture, history, or technology
  • basic digital literacy (e.g. familiarity with mobile apps, computer usage, or internet research)
  • prior exposure to coding/ design, or storytelling tools (e.g. Canva, Scratch)
