DigiEduHack 2025

Rethinking education in the age of digital skills.

Get ready: the 6th edition of DigiEduHack will take place 7-16 Nov 2025

Seize the opportunity, let's support people-driven digital transformation in education together!

VR Brain Train

Tor Vergata University invites high school teams to join “VR Brain Train, Learn to Negotiate and Choose Who You Become!”, a unique challenge that uses negotiation skills and virtual reality tools to design engaging settings for university orientation.

Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of negotiation, developing soft skills such as empathy and conflict resolution, and to the basis of VR, understanding its potential.

Working in groups, students will follow a Design Thinking process to:

  1. identify personal strengths and key priorities in the choice of a university programme;
  2. explore how VR can support decision-making and communication;
  3. define key messages to inspire university orientation;
  4. design immersive, interactive VR scenarios to convey the value of university programs in economics & management;
  5. pitch their final concept to a jury.

The starting and the final day will take place in presence at the Faculty of Economics, with three online sessions in between.

Challenge and goals

The primary goal of the VR Brain Train participants is to design creative and impactful VR-based scenarios that, exposing future students to settings where negotiation and communication skills are key, will guide them in making conscious and informed university choices.

The goal of the organisers is to provide participants with the opportunity to:

  • develop negotiation, conflict management and soft skills through teamwork
  • experience how VR can be used as a learning and self-awareness tool
  • mix negotiation and VR to design new pathways to present programs in economics and management

The outcome of the hackathon is to ideate VR experiences that can be used to support and inspire high school students in their university orientation, helping them become more confident, engaged and aware of their potential and educational options.

Expectations and requirements for the solutions and participants

Participants in the VR Brain Train hackathon are high-school students accompanied by their teachers and are expected to:

  • actively engage in learning and experimenting with negotiation techniques and virtual reality tools
  • collaborate in teams, think creatively, and stay motivated throughout the challenge
  • reflect on personal interests and educational goals, with curiosity about economics and management pathways

No prior experience with either negotiation or VR is required, just enthusiasm, openness to learning and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.
