Workflows: Create Competence Matching with Open-Source Tools
Design competence-matching workflows with Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) that generates learning pathways aligned with microcredential frameworks relevant to skills in demand in your workplace.
Your solution should demonstrate how to use open-source tools to support strategic competence planning, internal mobility, and measurable progress tracking.
You can choose your own tools or use KNIME for building workflows that connect training data with analytics and data-driven decision-making (DDDM). Training data for the model can be structured using LibreOffice, where a CSV file is created to store information about users, competencies, and proficiency levels.
The use of FOSS ensures that the solution remain sharable, adaptable and cost-effective. This approach supports open education and digital sovereignty, giving organisations control over how they develop and manage competence supply. It also encourages sharing and reuse, making learning innovation more accessible and sustainable.
