Shaping the Future of Education: Announcing the Local Winners of DigiEduHack 2024

The DigiEduHack 2024 Hackathon Days have officially concluded, marking the end of an exciting and inspiring journey. Between 8 and 17 November, creative thinkers, problem-solvers, and visionaries of all ages from around the world united with a shared mission: to imagine the future of digital education. From Mexico to Estonia, and spanning countries such as Italy and Azerbaijan, participants from 25 countries came together to tackle pressing challenges, exchange groundbreaking ideas, and develop cutting-edge solutions.

During the hackathon days, more than 1700 participants from all walks of education came together in 51 hackathons that were celebrated during the timespan of 10 hackathon days all around the world. The main goal of the initiative was to give solutions to real-world challenges in digital education. International participants joined forces by creating teams to address problems in eight key areas: Access and Availability, Learning Spaces and Pedagogy, The Learning Experience, Individual Competences, Organisational Capability, Well-being in Digital Education, Emerging Technologies for Education, and Data-Driven Education. With 24 hours to develop their solutions, teams had the chance to be mentored by experts in the field to refine their ideas. After intense brainstorming and collaboration, the most creative and innovative solutions were selected as local winners, receiving recognition and opportunities to further develop their projects and bring their ideas to life.

Now, it is time for our Steering Group to review the solutions from our local winners and decide which teams will advance to the finals, where they will compete in one of the categories, either social impact or disruptive technology for either the beginner or experienced level. We cannot wait to share more updates with you soon, as this next stage promises to be even more exciting!

And for the rest of the participants, remember this is just the beginning of your journey. Keep pushing forward with your ideas and solutions. Take full advantage of the network you have built, the mentors you have met, and the connections you have made. And remember, your National Ambassador is there to support you, guiding you as you continue to develop your projects and bring your vision to life.
