Get ready: the 5th edition of DigiEduHack will take place 8-17 Nov 2024!

EduGaming Xperience: Hack for the Future of Education

Participants will form teams to develop innovative educational games, apps, and tools designed to enhance the learning experience for students of all ages. Throughout the event, experienced mentors will be available to guide and support teams in their design, coding, and project development processes. The hackathon encourages collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity, offering a unique platform for participants to combine their passion for gaming with their interest in education.

At the end of the event, teams will present their final products to a panel of judges consisting of educational and technology experts. The most promising and impactful solutions will be recognised and awarded, offering participants an opportunity to gain valuable feedback and showcase their talent. The EduGaming Xperience aims not only to foster digital literacy but also to highlight the importance of game-based learning in the future of education, promoting both fun and effective ways of teaching.

Specific conditions to apply

Participants must be aged 16 or older to take part in the hackathon. All projects developed during the hackathon must align with the theme of "Digital learning games" to address environmental challenges. The products should integrate the functionalities available in the English language.  Teams are required to present their project ideas to a panel of judges at the conclusion of the hackathon.

Challenge and goals

  • Inspire young talents to explore creative approaches to teaching and learning through game-based education.
  • Promote teamwork among students by encouraging collaboration to develop game applications that enhance the educational experience.
  • Provide an opportunity for participants to enhance their digital and coding skills by creating interactive learning tools.
  • Encourage students to think entrepreneurially about their projects, focusing on scalability and the potential for real-world educational applications.
Expectations and requirements for the solutions and participants

Expectations: Participants in the EduGaming Xperience are expected to collaborate in teams to develop creative and innovative educational games or applications that enhance learning. They will also engage with mentors throughout the process, ultimately presenting their projects to a panel of judges for recognition and awards.

Requirements: Eligible participants for the EduGaming Xperience must be at least 16 years old and demonstrate an interest in improving the educational system, with a focus on enhancing teaching and learning processes. The initiative seeks students who are motivated to engage in collaborative team efforts to develop innovative products, such as educational games or applications, aimed at transforming traditional learning methods. 

Available Support

Participants in the initiative will have access to a comprehensive support system aimed at fostering their success. High-skilled mentors will play a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring the teams, offering their wealth of expertise and knowledge to refine projects and provide insights. In addition, participants will have access to computers and the Internet, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to bring their ideas to life.
