Green Campus Hackathon: Building Digital Solutions for SDG and Green Agenda
This hackathon challenge invites participants to co-create innovative, sustainable solutions in an international setting. The projects should address one or more of the environmental SDGs or the Green Agenda objectives. Solutions should be presented attractively as use cases/projects/prototypes that combine the following features:
- Promoting connection with SDGs and Green Agenda challenges
- Using virtual or blended learning settings
- Integrating collaboration with international or intercultural peers
- Validating the idea with participants (the real potential users)
- Including a clear plan with financial viability

Challenge and goals
Call to join the hackathon for a transformative experience that aims to expand students’ horizons, help them acquire valuable skills, and build lifelong connections with counterpart students, teachers and staff members around the globe.
Enhance international collaboration, creativity, and innovation to make a real impact in campus life. Participants are encouraged to think outside the box and leverage their skills and backgrounds to create impactful experiences. Hackathon participation fosters creativity and topic knowledge, encourages creative problem-solving and critical thinking while at the same time attending key competencies for sustainable development.
More specifically, this hackathon enables participants to:
- Foster International Collaboration: Encourage cross-cultural collaboration between students, professors and staff members from different countries to solve global challenges related to SDGs and Green Agenda.
- Promote Participants Agency: Empower participants to take the lead in designing and implementing projects that reflect their interests and perspectives on sustainability by co-creating their universities' transition toward Green Agenda and SDG-accelerator campuses.
- Enhance Global Citizenship: Develop participants' awareness and commitment to global issues through real-world, collaborative projects.
Expectations and requirements for the solutions and participants
Expected participants: Higher Education students, professors and University staff.
English comprehension is required by all participants (minimum B2 level).
