Think you can make learning better? Take part in DigiEduHack Hackathons!
Across the world, teachers, students, startups and education technology enthusiasts are coming together to tackle some of education’s biggest questions:
How can we make digital tools accessible to all learners? How do we ensure technology empowers teachers? And how do we support learners’ well-being in an age of constant connectivity?
These are just some of the challenges at the heart of DigiEduHack 2025, a global series of hackathons taking place from 7–16 November. During these local events educators, students, researchers, and changemakers come together to rethink the future of learning in only 24 hours
DigiEduHack 2025 invites people across Europe and beyond to turn these ideas into action. Participants, either onsite or online, will co-create solutions across a wide range of themes – from digital inclusion and future skills to green education, AI ethics, and well-being. Examples include:
- EduHack Adjud 2025 – Digital Skills for Equal Futures encourages participants to design solutions for digital literacy and access gaps in underserved communities
- EduWell Hackathon (Well-being in Digital Education) invites ideas that support mental health, resilience, and positive digital practices in learning settings
- Workflows: Create Competence Matching with Open Source Tools explores how technology can better connect people’s skills with opportunities in education and employment.
- AI in Education and You: Hack the Future of Tutoring, invites university students to explore how AI can transform tutoring and create personalised learning paths.
- My Learning Resources welcomes university students to explore how AI can support the customisation of learning materials, adapting them to different courses and different learning styles.
These examples are just the start - over 75 local and global thematic challenges are open now on the DigiEduHack portal for you to explore and join!
Why do we need change in digital education?
Education is evolving faster than ever and so are the skills we need to thrive. To prepare for the future, learning must go beyond digital know-how to foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. Meaningful education happens when technology empowers people, supports inclusion and well-being, and helps everyone reach their potential.
This transformation is at the heart of the European Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan (2021–2027), an EU flapship strategy for building stronger European digital education ecosystems. Together, they promote accessible, high-quality, and innovative learning opportunities for all learners and educators across Europe.
