2nd Quarterly Editorial - Rethinking Digital Education – How Global Collaboration Drives Change

In the current age of digital transformation, reimagining the future of education calls for collective action. DigiEduHack answers this call by bringing together educators, students, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from around the globe to find locally created solutions to worldwide challenges. Everyone, whatever their background, age or location, who has a keen interest in digital education and wants to participate in this global movement of digital education enthusiasts, is invited.

DigiEduHack contributes to driving the long-term transformation of education systems all over Europe and beyond by equipping learners with essential skills for an evolving digital world. By taking part in the different challenges, participants of each local hackathon can find digital solutions to current and pressing educational challenges, and to be part of the future of digital education.

Rooted in cross-border collaboration and innovation, the initiative supports both European and global ambitions. As a European Commission initiative, DigiEduHack reflects key EU priorities for people-centered digital and innovation-driven change, as outlined in the Digital Education Action Plan 2021–2027 and the STEM Education Strategic Plan, while also aligning with UNESCO’s global digital learning goals.

DigiEduHack 2024 winners received their awards

In June 2025, the DigiEduHack Global Winners of 2024 took the spotlight at the DigiEduHack Awarding Ceremony, held as part of the Digital Education Stakeholder Forum 2025.

The ceremony not only celebrated the creativity and dedication of the winning teams but also provided a global stage for them to present their solutions to policymakers, educators, and innovators from across Europe and beyond:

  • EDUMIND – An AI-powered platform that assists teachers in creating interactive, personalised learning materials that can adapt to student needs.
  • AiCademy – A smart study planning tool that helps students organise, review, and track their progress with AI-driven insights.
  • SIGNEDGE – A pioneering AI-based sign language learning tool, designed to enhance educational accessibility for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
  • MyVision – A student support app that offers AI-driven career guidance, helping learners navigate university selection and professional development.

These solutions show how DigiEduHack empowers grassroots innovation and turns personal challenges into shared opportunities for change in education.
